Windie has over 25 years of legal and litigation experience as a Legal Document Assistant and as a Senior Paralegal for local Law Firms. Windie Shepherd is bonded and registered with the County of Fresno as a Legal Document Preparation Assistant. (Fresno County Registration number: X202110000026)
Windie is a seasoned Senior Paralegal and Case Manager, currently working at a prominent Los Angeles law firm specializing in Family and Civil Litigation. With extensive experience in litigation, she has worked under the supervision of attorneys at various law firms, gaining in-depth knowledge of Family Law and Civil Litigation.
In December 2021, she was accepted by Northwestern California University School of Law to complete her Juris Doctor (JD), paving the way for her to sit for the California State Bar Exam. Additionally, in December 2023, Windie successfully completed three years of the study Law under the California State Bar’s Law Office Study Program.
Windie’s legal career began with her education in Paralegal Studies at Heald College, laying the foundation for her litigation and case management expertise. Over the years, she has not only supervised support staff and fellow paralegals in local law firms but has also taken on the role of mentor and coach for recent Paralegal program graduates seeking to gain real-world law firm experience.
Her hands-on experience in law firms gives her a distinct advantage over many Legal Document Assistants (LDAs), providing her with a comprehensive understanding of legal procedures, case strategy, and client advocacy.
In 2018, Windie became a CASA Advocate (Court appointed special advocate) for Fresno / Madera County. There is a need for representation for children in the foster care system and through legal advocacy and volunteerism Windie seeks to make a difference in the lives of children and those who do not have a voice in the legal system. Windie has volunteered for various charitable organizations including Marjaree Mason Center as a outreach specialist & speaker.
